Interning At A Recording Studio - Part One: Getting An Internship
So you want to be a Grammy-winning audio engineer? Ok. For a moment let's brush aside the obvious challenges (hundreds of kids graduating from audio engineering schools each month to a mere handful of jobs, an industry that is currently in one of the roughest patches it has ever seen, depressingly high divorce rates, no health insurance or benefits to be seen for miles around, 80-100 hour work weeks...you get the idea) and focus on one of the only things that is proven to help you: an internship.
It's hard to avoid. If you are pursuing a career as an audio engineer, sooner or later you will probably be required by your school to complete an internship. If you are not required to do this, then your school is doing you no favors. Go get an internship anyway.

The New Icon Mix Suite At OMNIsound Studios In Nashville
We have doubled in size! We just purchased the facility next door to us and have added 2 more recording studios--we now have a complex! We've installed a Digidesign Icon with 32 moving faders. We've got loads of plug-ins along with great analog summing gear. What more do you need to mix a great recording! If you've already recorded your tracks and just need a professional engineer and studio to finish the project--give us a call. We are located on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee--the recording capital of the world!
We also produce projects from the beginning stages. If you write your own songs...great! If not, we can help you find incredible material. We are partnered with one of the top Independent Publishing companies in Nashville. We'll hire the musicians, engineers and studio and oversee the entire project.
Feel free to give Steve a call at the studio (615) 321-5526. Let us record your next project!
